I'm on Paxil as well, and I can tell you that the withdrawal effects from that would be much more severe than Xanax withdrawal. Physicians tend to be really ignorant on Xanax and get scared when you mention it, while psychiatrists are knowledgeable and willing to prescribe it.

5. take supplements Omega 3, vitamin B complex and D
6. Face your fears.
I've had this for 6 months now and currently I am feeling better and better everyday.

alcohol yes, heroin although very very painful and brutal is not so much (except in heavy heavy withdrawls) however usually with heroin it's bone aches, runny nose, puking, diahreah etc
different neurochemicals are effected, gaba is incredibly dangerous to mess with, where as endorphins(heroin) not as lethal
