I said "they began recognizing themselves" meaning that they realized that the reflection was not another dog and that something was amiss about the reflection and thus began to figure things out. It took my eldest pup about 30 mins to realize it was a reflection at 4 months old and my youngest about an hour total - same age. The human child (and the ape baby in the clip) did the same thing and in less than 10 minutes you freaking retard. Stfu and go read a book.

Yes... but my DOGS are self-aware as well. When they were little babies it took them a few moments to realize that they were seeing themselves but within about 10 minutes they began recognizing themselves in mirrors. They will notice if something is on them and try to get it off, etc just as the apes and human child did. I really don't understand why they wasted money researching this when even dogs (at least my dogs) are self-aware as well.
