1. No gelcoat for ... By: elephantcup. on 11 Jul 08, 02:54:14 1. No gelcoat for carbon fiber, just resin. You won't see the carbon.
2. Get PVA from Fiberglass Services in Gardena, CA (carbon cloth, fiberglass, epoxy etc etc as well. They supply surfboard makers, they have everything, they're super cheap, and very very nice)
3. PVA should be sprayed on, not wiped on.

very very thin, the ... By: NikitasGuitars. on 09 Apr 08, 03:07:05 very very thin, the thickness of the fabric itself is like a 64th of an inch. Small pieces unravel really easily though so you may want to put some sort of backing on it before you cut it. I would use a nice pair of scissors. Depending on what you're inlaying in you can just cut route the inlay about twice as deep as you need, lay the fabric in with a little adhesive and drown it in bartop epoxy... sand and polish once its dry and voila! Good luck and let me know how it turns out man.
